DESCRIPTION: Cat’s claw is a woody vine that grows in the canopy of the Amazonian rainforest. It is harvested for its inner bark, although sometimes the roots are also collected for processing. The herb is also known as sparrowhawk nail and hawk’s claw, which reference the plant’s claw-like thorns. Typical preparations of the bark include extractions, infusions, or decoctions as cat’s claw tea.
